The girls’ basketball camp held on March 29th and 30th was an unforgettable event. Together with Coach Vaughn Canta of Extra Hours Basketball, we aimed to not only enhance skill development but also to inspire young athletes to push their limits. Hosted at Shoot 360’s cutting-edge facility, the camp provided an ideal backdrop for intense training based on fundamentals.

Our main goal was to deliver an engaging, energetic experience that motivated each player to strive for greatness and self-improvement that will prepare them to play past high school.

A High-Intensity Training Environment

Shoot 360's impressive facility, featuring advanced training technologies and spacious courts, established a dynamic atmosphere for our two-day camp.

Coach Vaughn Canta, known for his tenacious coaching style, infused each session with energy that resonated deeply with the girls, parents, and coaches. Coach David Bell (Full Circle Development and Training) added his extensive knowledge and experience to the program along with Strength Training Coach Ben Adena (My Best Me Performance).

The emphasis was on high-intensity drills that challenged and educated every player. They learned safe and effective warm ups and stretches, strength training exercises, and resources that can help prepare for the next level.

Building Skills and Confidence

The goal was to make everybody better, on and off the court, to build awareness and support around girls athletics, and to create opportunities for girls to compete (college, WNBA, NIL, careers in sports, etc.)

One of the most heartening outcomes of the camp was the sense of community that emerged among participants. Girls from diverse backgrounds and skill levels united through their shared love for basketball, creating a supportive atmosphere.

Our Leadership Workshop allowed players and coaches to share their experiences and encourage each other. Activities like group discussions on overcoming challenges, enjoying the game, forging lifelong friendships and appreciating the support of their families and support systems. We want to help develop good people, not just good players.

Balancing Development and Exposure

As a media agency, I have a different understanding and respect for exposure. While I definitely think that development outweighs exposure, I also think that exposure is a beneficial tool to market yourself if used correctly.

The more you focus on your development, the more authentic and relatable your content will be. Social Media allows people to get an idea of who you are and what you do but "exposure" can be very misleading. Coaches and recruiters are looking at athletes accounts to see not only if they're a solid player but a person with discipline, respect, a positive attitude, teamwork, leadership, etc. Athletes have to be mindful about the way they present themselves and who they associate with in-person and especially online.

Final Thoughts

Feedback from players, parents, and participating coaches validated our efforts and provided insights for planning future events. We are committed to continually improving the camp experience to make it even more effective for our young athletes. Our goal is to replicate and expand on the success of this event, establishing an ongoing program committed to the advancement of girls basketball.

We thank all players, parents, and coaches for participating. It was inspiring to see young athletes show up with intent to learn and improve their basketball skills. The sense of community that flourished reinforced the importance of support and encouragement in every young athlete's journey.

We look forward to offering this unique experience to more aspiring basketball players in the future. Together, let’s continue to unleash potential and build confidence both on and off the court!
