Three years of partnership. Two successful camps. One shared mission: developing young women on and off the court.

From September 11–13, 2026, Development Over Exposure Girls Camp returned to Shoot 360 Las Vegas for its second official camp in partnership with Coach Vaughn Canta, bringing together an elite group of coaches, guest speakers, athletes, and families for a weekend centered on growth, development, and the future of girls basketball.

What made this weekend special wasn't just basketball. It was the collaborative effort, the willingness to learn, and the genuine investment from everyone involved in helping these athletes become better players and more confident individuals. The girls arrived ready to work. They maintained positive attitudes, supported one another, and demonstrated a genuine desire to improve.

A Weekend Built Around Player Development

Throughout the weekend, players participated in structured training sessions that focused on the fundamentals and advanced concepts necessary for success on the court, including:

  • Ball handling and footwork

  • Balance and shooting

  • Passing and playmaking

  • Team concepts and awareness

  • Decision-making and basketball IQ

  • Strength and conditioning

  • Recovery and overall athlete wellness

The girls were challenged to step outside their comfort zones, embrace instruction, and approach each session with intention. The emphasis was on development over exposure — focusing on becoming a more complete athlete rather than simply being seen.

Friday Night: Evaluations, Registration & A Meaningful Parent Workshop

The weekend kicked off on Friday, September 11, with player registration, evaluations, and an introductory parent workshop.

Athletes were put through a variety of drills designed to assess their skills, experience, and overall abilities. These evaluations helped coaches group players by age and skill level, allowing for more intentional instruction and a training environment that challenged each athlete appropriately.

The parent workshop provided an opportunity to introduce families to the camp's mission, expectations, and goals for the weekend. One of the most meaningful activities gave parents the chance to write a personal letter to their daughters expressing their love, encouragement, and support. Those letters were saved for the athletes to read at the conclusion of camp, creating a powerful reminder that their support system extends far beyond the basketball court. It was a thoughtful way to reinforce the importance of family, encouragement, and the role parents play in an athlete's journey.

Elite Coaching & Guest Speakers

This year's camp featured an impressive group of assistant coaches and guest speakers who brought diverse experiences, knowledge, and perspectives to the athletes.

Jewell Loyd of the Las Vegas Aces brought the perspective of a professional basketball player, giving athletes the opportunity to learn from someone who has competed at the highest levels of the game.

Coach Katie Lutman of Centennial High School provided insight on recruiting, resources in the community for athletes to grow and compete, as well as parent-athlete relationships and creating a healthy support system.

Breanna Workman founder of Master the Game contributed to the camp's emphasis on mindset and the importance of becoming well-rounded individuals; helping athletes better understand the importance of preparation, consistency, and continued development.

Jamela Christian, an athletic advisor brought a female-focused perspective that extended beyond performance, emphasizing the importance of confidence and a positive attitude in their broader basketball journeys.

Training Stations and Film Study

A major component of the weekend involved breaking athletes into stations that focused on specific skills and areas of the game. This structure allowed coaches to provide more focused instruction while giving players opportunities to repeat, refine, and apply fundamental techniques.

The camp also incorporated film study for athletes to analyze and review performance of the game in real time with our coaches. Film sessions focused on breaking down plays, helping players recognize opportunities for improvement and better understanding how decisions made on the court impact team success.

Developing basketball IQ is an essential part of becoming a complete player, and these sessions encouraged the girls to think critically about their game rather than relying solely on physical ability.

Strength, Conditioning & Recovery

With strength and conditioning led by Chris Bryant, athletes were introduced to training concepts designed to support athletic performance, movement, and long-term development.

The camp also reinforced the importance of recovery - an often-overlooked part of an athlete's routine. Understanding how to care for the body, manage workload, and recover properly is essential for athletes looking to perform consistently and sustain their development.

A Facility Designed for Development: Shoot 360 Las Vegas

Once again, Shoot 360 Las Vegas served as the home for Development Over Exposure Girls Camp. Shoot 360 offers one of the best basketball training environments in Las Vegas, featuring:

  • State-of-the-art basketball technology

  • Multiple courts for training and competition

  • A dedicated workout room

  • A professional environment built around player development

The facility provided the space and resources necessary to support a full weekend of basketball training. We appreciate Shoot 360 for continuing to provide an environment where athletes can learn, compete, and grow.

Looking Ahead: Growing the Game

As we reflect on another successful Development Over Exposure Girls Camp, we're reminded of why partnerships like this matter. The goal extends beyond hosting a basketball camp. It's about creating opportunities for athletes to learn from experienced professionals, connect with mentors, challenge themselves, and prepare for their next steps. We look forward to continuing to grow this program, strengthening our partnerships, and finding new ways to positively impact the game of basketball.

To Coach Vaughn, the coaching staff, guest speakers, partners, parents, and every athlete who showed up ready to work thank you. Your commitment made this weekend possible. And to the next generation of female basketball players: keep working, keep learning, and keep believing in what you can become.
