There are some events that leave a lasting impression long after the cameras stop rolling. Last week's With A. Purpose Youth Camp, led by Austin Ajiake and his foundation, was one of those experiences.

We were honored to provide photo and video coverage for the camp and witness a day dedicated to investing in the next generation. Best of all, the event was completely free for youth, giving both boys and girls an opportunity to learn, compete, and grow in a positive environment surrounded by coaches, mentors, and a supportive community.

A Community Showing Up

One of the most encouraging parts of the day was seeing the community come together in support of the foundation's mission. Families, volunteers, sponsors, and coaches all played a role in creating an unforgettable experience for the kids.

Throughout the camp, participants trained alongside Austin Ajiake and an incredible coaching staff that included Chuck Williams, Gabe McCoy, Amani Trigg, and Jaylon Jones. Each coach brought knowledge, encouragement, and genuine enthusiasm, helping every athlete build confidence while sharpening their skills.

As media professionals, we love documenting competition, but what stood out most wasn't just the drills—it was the relationships being built throughout the day.

More Than Football

The camp was about much more than athletic performance. The kids showed passion, competitiveness, athleticism, and, most importantly, a genuine desire to learn. They could have spent the day at home playing video games or watching YouTube, but instead they chose to invest in themselves. They chose to practice, meet new friends, ask thoughtful questions, and challenge themselves.

Beyond the on-field drills, campers participated in an open Q&A session with the coaching staff, where conversations extended beyond football into leadership, discipline, perseverance, and personal growth.

Hearing the kids speak their affirmations, ask meaningful questions, and express their commitment to becoming better athletes and better people was incredibly encouraging. Those moments are reminders that today's investment can have a lifelong impact.

Recognizing the Parents

Another highlight of the day was seeing parents included in the experience. During the Q&A, the coaches made it a point to recognize the parents for their commitment and sacrifice. They were given their flowers for consistently showing up, supporting their children, and making opportunities like this possible.

Behind every young athlete is often a parent or guardian dedicating time, energy, and resources to help them succeed. It was refreshing to see that support acknowledged and celebrated.

Creating Lasting Memories

As the camp came to a close, the coaches stayed behind to autograph shirts, bags, footballs, water bottles, and shoes while taking photos with campers and their families.

Those simple moments often become the memories that young athletes carry with them for years. It was evident that everyone involved genuinely cared about making each child feel seen, encouraged, and inspired.

The day was also made even more special thanks to the delicious food and refreshments provided by Roadkill Grill and Kona Ice. We also want to recognize the foundation's sponsors and community partners whose generosity helped make this free camp possible: Vegas Flag, Henness & Haight, Limitless Sports Medicine, Body Armor, Escobar Auto Detailing, Blue Chip Conditioning, T-Shirts by Design, and Leverage Football. Events like this thrive because organizations and local businesses choose to invest in young people.

Why It Matters

Watching Austin and the entire With A. Purpose team pour into the next generation was inspiring. Investing in our youth is always worth it. Taking the time to lead, teach, encourage, and simply have fun with kids helps shape their confidence, character, and future. Experiences like these remind us that success isn't measured only by wins on the field, but by the lives impacted off of it.

We're grateful to Austin Ajiake, the With A. Purpose Foundation, the coaches, sponsors, volunteers, parents, and every young athlete who allowed us to document such a meaningful day. We can't wait to see the continued impact of With A. Purpose and look forward to supporting future events that strengthen our community one generation at a time.
